Stories
Visitor:
Where do you get the parts for your dolls? And do you use any blanks?
Anna:
I sculpt all my dolls entirely by hand from start to finish. First, I make the sculpture. Then, I make the joints. Each joint is sculpted separately. I divide the sculpture into parts and connect them with the joints.
Visitor:
How long does it take to make one doll?
Anna:
This is the most frequent question. Making a doll is a very long and painstaking process. I spend two months or more on one doll.
Visitor:
Who comes up with and sews the clothing for you?
Anna:
The entire look, including clothing, shoes, and accessories, is conceived and made solely by me. I am the designer and the maker.
Visitor:
What materials do you use for the clothing?
Anna:
Dolls don't tolerate cheap or low-quality materials. Therefore, for their costumes, I only use natural fabrics. This usually means silk, antique lace, and embellishments. I make shoes solely from genuine leather. Everything is just like human items, just miniature and to scale.
Visitor:
Who usually buys your dolls?
Anna:
It's a wide variety of people. But always those who resonate with me. They are collectors, of course. My dolls are housed in many renowned collections. Often, my creations are given as exclusive gifts. From time to time, I make dolls with portrait resemblance.
Visitor:
Don't you find it hard to let go of your dolls?
Anna:
They are like children. They grow up and leave the house. They must have their own lives. I often receive greetings from them. I know they are loved.
